2025 Research Internship Program at Deakin University's Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Built Environment (SEBE) are now open!
This program offers an exceptional opportunity for high-performing students from our esteemed partner institutions to engage in cutting-edge research projects under the guidance of experienced Deakin academic supervisors.
Program Highlights
Immersive Research Experience: In place of student’s final year projects at HCMUT, students will join ongoing Deakin research projects across a range of disciplines, including Information Technology, Engineering, Life and Environmental Sciences, and Architecture and Construction Management.
Professional Growth: Participants will gain invaluable insights, develop essential professional skills, and experience life as an international student in Australia.
Collaborative Environment: Students will work alongside Deakin’s academic staff and peers, fostering intercultural collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Co-supervision: Selected students from your esteemed institution are required to nominate a co-supervisor from HCMUT who will ensure the alignment of the research project at Deakin to the academic needs of the HCMUT program. Co-supervision also allows us to connect researchers from our institutions for future peer-to-peer research collaborations.
No tuition fees: There are no tuition fees payable to Deakin as part of this program, however students are expected to cover all costs associated with travelling to Australia (flights, visa, insurance, accommodation, and meals etc.)
Application Process: Interested students are invited to apply by filling out the application form linked in the attached flyer.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Minimum cGPA of 8.0 or equivalent
- Completion of at least 6 semesters of study in a bachelor’s degree or 2 semesters in a master’s degree at the home institution
- Interest in pursuing further research at Deakin University
Selection Criteria: At the discretion of the Deakin Academic Supervisor
Key Dates:
- Application Deadline: 25 August 2024 (Midnight AEST)
- Interviews: September 2024
- Outcomes and Offer Letters: late September/October 2024
- Internship Start: January 2025
